DEVELOPMENT OFFICER/BUILDING INSPECTOR/FIRE INSPECTOR

Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, the Development Officer/Building Inspector/Fire Inspector will be responsible for administering the Municipality of Roblin Development Plan and Zoning By-Law, the Manitoba Building Code and Plumbing Code, Municipal By-laws and Manitoba Fire Code.  

This is a permanent part-time position.  We require a person who is self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work well with others.  The successful applicant must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and provide their own vehicle to undertake the responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Grade 12 education with post-secondary education in construction, planning, engineering, or other related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education would be an asset but is not mandatory.  A complete job description is available upon request.

Roblin is situated in a very unique area with employment opportunities in farming, logging, nursing, home care, truck driving as well as retail and service.

The Roblin Review is a local paper which often advertises numerous job postings.

The local Parkway Co-Op has recently constructed a new grocery store which is conveniently located next to their gas station.  Both locations often have various job openings, check out their link to see if something is the right fit for you: Parkway Co-Op.

The recent large expansion of a local pig barn East of Roblin has prompted the need for more full time employees. Please email Canmark Family Farming:   canmark2@inetlink.ca    for more information or to send a resume.

Other potential employers, such as Wendell Estate Honey Farm, often use sights such as Workopolis, Monster and Indeed as well as the website of the Regional Employment Center  located in Russell, MB.  Check out the employment center's facebook page for other opportunities in the area.
